My darling little Girl, I am
sitting by Mamma while
the nurse is taking a
nap - Mamma feels better
than she did yesterday
but she looks very
ill. The doctor will
come for his second
visit today, in about an
[2]
hour and then I can tell
better how seriously ill
she is. She has taken
only a few spoonfuls
of malted-milk today
and even that means
nausea. If she should
improve greatly, I may
come back tomorrow -

but I do not look a day
ahead. She was taken ill Wed-
nesday night and suffered acutely
that night and yesterday. Erving
came yesterday afternoon and
succeeded in securing a trained-
nurse last evening so that she slept
[4]
comfortably most of the night.
