Women Against Heterosexism

In February of 1987, a new student organization was created called Women Against Heterosexism (WAH). According to their mission statement, WAH was made up of lesbian, bisexual, and heterosexual women. In March of 1987, they invited President Kennan to attend a meeting to ask for a campus-wide discussion on the topic of heterosexism. WAH also marched and had a float on Pangy Day, a MHC spring celebration. One member created a library case in April of 1987 called " Lesbianism at Mount Holyoke," which detailed the history of lesbian activism on campus. WAH was also very committed to connecting with other Five College organizations.
